The Trendiest Style — What Is It?

The Trendiest Style — What Is It?

One of the main desires of our clients is to create an interior that will remain relevant and stylish for a long time… After all, everyone wants to renovate for decades ahead, change nothing, and stay relevant…

Well, that desire is almost impossible to fulfill; interior design needs to be updated every 5 years if, of course, you want to stay at the forefront of stylish interiors. But! That is precisely why I always tell our clients: design the interior for yourself and tailored to yourself, and it will remain relevant for you for a very long time (perhaps even forever!)

Nevertheless, despite this introduction, I must say that there are interior styles that stand the test of time… I am talking about classic styles, and specifically I would highlight three directions. Read on to find out why classics and which stylistic directions I am talking about

Classic Style — The Best Solution for an Interior

Home is primarily our foundation and stronghold, a sense of stability and safety. A classic interior embodies all components of comfort and harmony, making you feel especially secure, calm, and peaceful in it.

The second important point is the statement of social status. All classic interiors are virtually works of art: expensive materials, exquisite accessories, luxurious furniture… All this is ideally suited for those who want to make a statement, who do not want to remain in the shadows. And it has always been this way throughout history.

And third, what I would also mention, is the main secret of the classic interior. It is always relevant because it is built upon the laws of symmetry and balance (the laws of beauty that were formed before our era and are still relevant today!)

Neoclassics: Key Principles

It is this direction that continues to remain relevant for many years. Therefore, for all lovers of timeless interiors, I recommend modern classics. This style is much more flexible than traditional palace classics. Let's put it this way: it is a classic style for a modern apartment in a modern world.

Key features of the style:

Restrained color palette Natural materials Noble forms Classic compositional techniques Moderation in decor Abundant air and space Diverse lighting scenarios

The main difference from traditional classics is that there is room for modern trends in this style.

American Classics

One of the modern movements within the classic stream (although this style has existed for many years); it has simply become immensely popular over the last five years. And what is especially pleasing is that the modern construction industry provides an immense selection of accessories, furniture, textiles, and decor to design within this direction.

Elements of the style:

1. Primary colors — all natural shades: beige, gray, cream, brown. For contrasts, burgundy, muted blue, light green, and all wood tones are used.

2. Traditional American furniture — simple, sloping forms, devoid of sharp corners and modern straight lines.

4. The style leans toward symmetry and proper geometry.

5. Neutral floors in warm shades, tall baseboards. Tile, stone, and other materials are used in natural earthy colors.

6. No abundance of stucco moldings, but smooth-profile ceiling cornices and wall moldings are present. Ceilings are smooth white, framed with a tall cornice. Coffered ceiling structures may be used if the room's height allows.

7. Walls are painted in solid colors; wallpaper is used quite rarely.

8. Chandeliers and luminaires are classic, modern, or classic-stylized. Plenty of table lamps.

Art Deco — A Celebration Every Day

This classic direction is more popular than ever. Granted, it requires considerable investment, but if you manage to bring such an interior to life, no one will pass by unnoticed.

I would say that Art Deco design is suited for those who desire a prestigious, luxurious interior, but are not ready for traditional, opulent classics.

Features of the style:

Contrasting color palette (black and white is especially preferred) Exotic materials Sharp geometry and graphic quality Atmosphere of theater and stage sets

Here are three directions that, in my opinion, will remain relevant for a very long time… Why didn't I say anything about more modern and minimalist styles? I think it is because these styles are extremely volatile: compare today's and last year's contemporary interior… You will be surprised at how different they are!

Experience shows that classics remain timeless, or, as I have said and will repeat again: design for yourself, because each of us perceives beauty differently.

In conclusion, whatever style you choose, let it be close to your heart; only then will it truly please you for many years to come.
